To setup an Israeli company, one shareholder and one director are required. It may be the same person or corporate entity, not necessarily a resident of Israel.
The company is also required to have a registered office address on the territory of the country. Despite the fact that official languages are Hebrew and Arabic, in practice corporate documents can be made in English. The company’s Articles of Association must be translated into Hebrew though.
The name of the company must be chosen in Hebrew, however, its English translation can be registered as well. Requirements to the company’s name are similar to the existing rules in other jurisdictions. The name should not include the following words: royal, imperial, government, municipal, chartered, cooperative, chamber of commerce, society of association and others, and it is not be similar to names of the existing companies. The name of a limited liability company must include abbreviation LTD.
